About The Forest Sober Living

The Forest Sober Living is a structured sober living environment with homes in Arizona, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Florida. We provide safe, sober housing for both men and women who are transitioning from recovery from mental health symptoms and/or substance use. The program establishes stability, accountability, and a sense of community that helps residents regain confidence to live independently.

We at The Forest Sober Living believe that there is a better transition from treatment to real life, and we recognize the difficulties in feeling confident after leaving outpatient treatment. That is why The Forest established homes that provide balance, accountability, and stability with care and concern for our residents. Each home embodies the principles of honesty, integrity, and respect, which guide all residents and staff each day.

About-Our-Story

Our Story

The Forest began with a vision of connecting treatment to independent living. Their founders witnessed too many individuals leaving treatment with hope but without any structure to maintain it. They designed a place for people to grow in community and learn accountability, purpose, and practical skills.

Each home is designed to help residents move beyond the mindset of “just staying sober” and build a meaningful life. The Forest continues to grow in several states, achieving trust through consistency and care rather than marketing or false promises. Our core values have consistently called for creating environments where people feel seen, supported, and capable of maintaining recovery.

Our Mission

The Forest Sober Living has a simple mission: to provide stable, recovery-oriented housing that helps people stabilize their lives through structure and community. We believe consistency builds confidence, and accountability builds trust. Every decision we make, from our admissions process to our daily operations, is based upon compassion and accountability.

Our staff includes peer mentors, trained on-site managers, and support staff, providing lived experience and professional knowledge to the recovery journey. Together, they build an environment that encourages independence with clear expectations.

Our Approach

At The Forest Sober Living, we focus on recovery as progress, not perfection. Recovery takes time, practice, and support. We believe establishing a daily routine, peer accountability, and teaching a variety of life skills will ultimately create change in an individual’s life. Each resident will have a routine structure in their day, allowing them to experience a healthier one.

Residents can expect to take part in meetings, engage with the community, and learn practical, useful tools for skill development. The program will give individuals the opportunity to regain confidence as active participants in all aspects of their day-to-day lives, whether that be getting to work, paying bills, or maintaining relationships.

Our philosophy is that actual progress happens whenever each individual can be supported from a place of safety and stability, while at the same time being challenged to take ownership of their life choices. We are all about establishing a routine that balances responsibility with independence, to develop and maintain habits that will help an individual sustain their recovery long after completing our program.

Our Homes

Every Forest home is designed to feel calm, comfortable, and lived in, a place where recovery can truly take root. Our houses sit in peaceful neighborhoods near meetings, outpatient programs, gyms, and local job opportunities, making it easier to stay connected to life while building stability.

Inside, you’ll find fully furnished spaces with shared and private rooms, inviting kitchens, and outdoor areas where residents gather for meals or quiet moments. Each home is intentionally small, usually six to ten residents, so everyone has room to breathe while still feeling part of a close community.

We’ve built these homes around the values that matter most: safety, consistency, and dignity. When you live in the right environment, recovery doesn’t just feel possible. It starts to feel like home.
